WAYS has been part of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs community since 1979. We work across secondary education, youth counselling, case management, vocational training, and outside school hours care. If you’re looking for a role where the work is real and the team around you is genuinely committed — we’d like to hear from you.
Every role directly supports youth wellbeing and family connection.
Training and development opportunities provided for all roles.
Work with passionate, experienced professionals who value diversity and inclusion.
A few things that people tend to say once they have.
We hire across a range of areas: teachers and learning support staff for WAYS Secondary, youth workers and case managers for the Wellness Centre, psychologists and therapists for our counselling service, and educators and coordinators for WAYS OOSH. Roles vary in hours and contract type — check the current listings for what’s open.
It depends on the role. Clinical and case management roles require relevant qualifications and experience. Teaching roles require NESA registration. OOSH roles require a Working with Children Check and relevant childcare or education qualifications. For some roles, demonstrated commitment to working with young people can matter as much as formal sector experience.
We review every application and aim to respond within two weeks. If there’s a fit, we’ll invite you to an interview — usually with a panel including a program manager. Depending on the role there may be a second conversation or a practical component. All roles require a current Working with Children Check before start.
Yes. Use the Register Your Interest form and tell us what kind of role you’re looking for. We keep expressions of interest on file and reach out when something relevant comes up.
We offer paid study leave, access to internal and external clinical supervision for relevant roles, and a genuine commitment to helping staff grow. We’re a mid-sized organisation — you won’t get lost, and there’s real opportunity to take on responsibility over time.
