Counselling

Free psychological support for young people aged 12–24.

Our therapists work with young people not to fix them, but to help them understand what they are carrying and find a way through it.

Sessions are evidence based, trauma informed, and tailored to each young person. Support is usually provided as a short to medium term episode of care, typically around six months, with flexibility to extend when needed.

Young people can also return to the service later if new challenges arise or additional support would help.

  • No GP referral.
  • No Medicare plan. No cost.

STEP 1 - Assessment

Understanding the full picture

The first sessions are about getting to know the young person properly. We collect background history, listen to their hopes for therapy, and complete a psychosocial assessment. No jumping straight into treatment.

STEP 2 - Planning

A personalised approach

Based on what we’ve learned, we build a plan that fits the young person — not a generic programme. We choose the therapeutic approach that makes most sense for their situation and personality.

STEP 3 -The support phase

putting the plan into action

Support is usually provided as a short to medium term episode of care, typically around six months. If additional support is needed, sessions can be extended, and young people can return to the service later if new challenges arise.
